Welsh Government Woodland Creation Planning Scheme

Use us to access the Woodland Creation Planning Scheme in Wales. The scheme is open for Expressions of Interest through your Rural Payments Wales account (there is no fixed application window). This scheme funds the preparation of your UK Forest Standard compliant Woodland Creation Plan. Your approved plan is valid for 5 years for accessing woodland creation funding for your fencing, tree planting and maintenance. Get ahead achieving your 10% tree cover for the new Sustainable Farming Scheme and reap the benefits of integrating trees into your agriculture! The scheme is also available to non-farmer landowners. Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust has a range of schemes for supporting land owners who want to plant trees. As a Woodland Trust agent we can help you decide what scheme suits you. Please contact the Woodland Trust through their Information and application form.

Farming Connect

Ruth is a Farming Connect Specialist Advisor for Woodland. If you are registered with Farming Connect, funding is available for one-to-one advice through the Farming Connect Advisory Service by contacting your local development officer. You might want to discuss your ideas for tree planting, want help planning how to achieve your 10% tree cover, or get support accessing Small Grants Environment to plant areas of woodland less than 2 hectares on sites without sensitivities. Application windows in 2024 open on January 8th, May 20th and August 12th and are available for just over a month.

Trainhugger

The Royal Forestry Society is working together with the Royal Scottish Forestry Society and the rail ticket booking service, Trainhugger to support tree planting. For every rail booking made on Trainhugger 50p will be donated to help member of the RFS and RSFS plant trees. This scheme can be used to restock windblow sites.
